Part 1: The Night of the Party

The air in Lagos was thick with humidity and the buzz of anticipation as Tunde’s mansion glowed under the weight of a lavish party. Tunde, a charismatic tech mogul in his early thirties, had invited a mix of friends, business partners, and a few curious strangers to celebrate his latest startup’s success. The house, a sleek blend of glass and steel, pulsed with Afrobeats, laughter, and clinking glasses. Fairy lights draped over the poolside, where guests mingled, their faces lit by the soft glow.

Tunde was the life of the party, moving through the crowd with his signature charm, a glass of champagne in hand. He toasted with his best friend, Kemi, a sharp-witted lawyer who’d known him since university. He shared a tense laugh with his business partner, Chinedu, whose startup stake had made him wealthy but restless. His ex-girlfriend, Amara, hovered near the bar, her eyes darting toward him with unspoken resentment. And then there was Malik, the quiet caterer, weaving through the crowd with trays of small chops, his face unreadable.

By midnight, the mood shifted. A scream pierced the music. Guests rushed to the study, where Tunde lay sprawled on the floor, a pool of blood spreading from a wound in his chest. A kitchen knife glinted nearby, wiped clean of prints. The police arrived, cordoned off the scene, and began questioning the guests. Four people stood out: Kemi, Chinedu, Amara, and Malik. Each had a reason to resent Tunde, each had been seen near the study, and each swore they were innocent.

As the investigation began, whispers filled the air. Who killed Tunde? And why?
