Watching a loved one age.

So… I've got something on my mind. Let's chat.

When did we collectively decide to just watch our loved ones, especially our parents age while we do nothing to stop it?

I believe that's real emotional torture especially when you're not exactly where you want to be yet.

I mean, what do you mean they're no longer young? No longer as strong and energetic as they used to be when we were 3?

If I could hold back time just for one reason, it'll be to have my loved ones with me forever. I hope that's not too selfish.

They're getting older and it hurts to think that one day, they won't be here anymore. One day, their memories will fade and roles will be reversed.

Don't get me wrong, aging is a gift from God but then could we ask for them to be immortal instead?

How I wish time stops or reverses.

My mind drifts back to the times she asked me to pluck the grey strands on her head and chin. She'd ask me how many there were.

Sigh…

Time is cruel and aging is a “blessing” but no one talks about the costs.

What happens when they're no longer here? It's sad to know that one day; oh how I dread that day, they'll be only in my memory.
