I still use the wrong words when naming things.

I mistake your tiredness for distance and push when I am supposed to offer distance.

Falling is extremely taxing; it takes grit to love. It's allowing yourself to ask silly questions even when you're sure you shouldn't.

It's learning habits and observing pauses. It's making comebacks and creating silly inside jokes.

It's fun, then it's not.

Because now you know you're in the process. You learned their language; you want to see if they learned yours too.

At the end of the day, you're embarrassed but knocked back to your senses. You learn your place and bolden boundaries.

You understand that you might've been learning the wrong language from the start.

Maybe it just wasn't yours to learn.
