The One You'd Look For First

Your hand’s on the doorknob. You know they’re all inside. Every person you’ve ever loved. Family, old friends, past loves, even the ones who are no longer here. Your heart’s racing, not from fear exactly, but from everything you’re about to feel.

You open the door. The room is warm with memory. Faces from different parts of your life look back at you, and without meaning to, your eyes start searching. You don’t "think", you just "search". You search by instinct and emotion.

And in that split second, you're search for that one person that made you feel completely seen in a room full of people who’ve only seen parts of you.

Who would you look for first? That one glance says everything. That first glance speaks louder than words ever will. It’s not always the one you were closest to, or the one who stayed the longest. It’s the one who gave you peace. The one who made the noise stop. The one that made you feel at home. Sometimes, the answer may surprise us.

And maybe... that's the person you should reach out to now before the moment passes. Before the love turns to silence. Before the room becomes a memory.
