How do I pen it down?‎‎Do I talk about my previous love?‎Do I talk about my current love? ‎Mixed feelings.‎Complicated emotions.‎Tragic conclusions?‎Let's see how it goes.‎‎*****‎‎Staring into that silent land,‎as memories stream down my face.‎The ones of joy and laughter used to be my favorite‎but now… they ache.‎‎Before me lay your body,‎wrapped in fine white linen.‎And as they lowered you into the dark earth,‎it finally made sense...from dust we came,‎and to dust we shall return.‎Your touch is what I crave...to hug you, to kiss you,‎to love you endlessly.‎But here you are,‎gone gently into the good night.‎I stand before the grey stone,‎bluebells and daisies trembling in my hands‎as I lay them down.‎‎My love.‎My heartbeat.‎My joy.‎My king.‎My hope.‎My best friend.‎‎Now...how do I say goodbye‎to the one who walked with me‎through night and day?‎The feeling I have for you‎is what humans dare to call love.‎How long must I wait‎to see you again?‎For you said,‎‎“Until we meet again…be yourself.‎Stand for what is right.‎Love yourself, for none can love you more than you do.‎Believe.‎And wait for me.‎We shall reunite in Heaven. On those golden streets we will dance.‎I will hold you close, shower you with kisses and praise.‎But until then,‎live.‎Love again.‎Have patience.‎And when the Almighty calls your name,‎we shall have our blissful reunion.”‎‎‎Words fail me now...as you gripped the cold hands of death,‎you made me promise‎to live.‎‎I remember your deep grey eyes...slowly drifting into that good night.‎I panicked.‎I prayed.‎I begged the silent land‎not to call your name.‎I pleaded with the Uncreated Creator to stop calling your name‎‎“From dust we were formed,” you whispered,‎“and as dust we shall depart.‎If one is never prepared‎for the cold hands of death,‎how shall he be ready‎for the warmth of eternity?‎I will depart from you...but I will reunite with you in Heaven.‎‎Rest now. Live a life worth living.‎Love endlessly. Forgive others...and yourself.‎I was not perfect.‎But I hope I was your best friend.‎I hope I was the answer‎to your prayers.”‎‎And then...you went gently‎into the good night.‎Now I stand again in that silent place.‎Memories still stream down my face.‎‎But no longer only pain.‎Now…it is the love‎that remains.‎The love death could not keep.‎
