The Empty Glow-up

We've all seen it: the "glow up." A person changes their clothes, gets a new haircut, maybe starts hitting the gym. On the outside, they look polished, confident, and successful. They post pictures, and the likes and comments pour in. "You look amazing!" "What's your secret?"

But sometimes, something feels off. The smile in the photo doesn't quite reach their eyes. The glow is just on the surface, a veneer. This is the "empty glow up." It's a change that's all about appearance, with no real inner work.

It's like renovating a house but only painting the front door. The inside might still be a mess—the pipes are leaking, the foundation is weak. The person might have changed their style, but they haven't dealt with the reasons they were unhappy in the first place. They still have the same anxieties, the same insecurities.

The true glow up is different. It starts on the inside. It's about healing, learning, and growing. It's about finding what makes you happy, not just what looks good on Instagram. When you do the inner work, the outside changes happen naturally. You stand taller, your eyes sparkle, and your confidence is real.

The empty glow up is a short-term fix. It might get you a few compliments, but it won't give you lasting happiness. The real glow up is a journey. It's a slower, quieter process, but the results are so much more beautiful and lasting.
