THE DRAMA THAT COMES WITH READING

Cut it off!, I screamed.

Off with his hands!, I yelled, while looking at my phones screen.

Every few seconds, one profanity and another would slip out of my lips. These words, I usually reserve for those I can only insult in my head, but here I was, throwing them as casually as my "hi". Guess what? I was reading.

Reading is always an event for me.

I love how books reel me in and create a whole new environment around me.

Ever read till you can feel the cool breeze blowing by the sea mentioned in the book, on your face?

Depends on the book though. Some books suck you in, others leave you standing on a ledge.

I was listening to a weird novel about wild crimes. It surprises me though, everytime, the things that go on in the heads of psychotic criminals.

This one is over 29, still living with his parents, always stealing their money while under their roof. One day, he comes home and his mom starts nagging him, probably as usual, to get a job and get responsible with his life. He didn't like it, so he used a kitchen knife to stab his mother, and kept stabbing her till he was covered in gruesome blood.

It wasn't enough, he waited for his old man to get home and he did the same thing to him, then he started hunting all those people who ever told him to do better; his ex girlfriend, his childhoodfriend, his boss at his old job, etc. Just like that, he became serial.

It is sickening to think of. When he was finally caught, charged and jailed for life, I didn't like it. Nobody asked me, but he deserves pain everyday. I had hoped he'll be hung from his toes till all the blood rushed to his head, then, they'll stick 100 needles on his now shaven head, a little deeper than acupuncture. Afterwards, he'll be sliced at his major pain points, say behind his ankle and ears, and left to bleed to within an inch of his life. Then, we'll sew him back up, tight.

Now, you understand why I was yelling at my screen and calling "Bobby" every evilicious name that I know. I thank God I'm not Judge, Jury and executioner.

I learnt something from it though...

So what if its just fictional?

Some people don't need your advice. Offering unsolicited advice can be dangerous sometimes, so stay safe.

If there are more lessons to be learnt, you can tell me, after reading the "In Death" Series by Nora Roberts, writing as JD Robb.
