THAT'S OFFANSIVE

Yes that spelling was intentional as I was drawing inspiration from Read Choi's viral TikTok where he imitates the weirdness of Gen Z in a robbery scene. You can watch it if you want because I don't want to focus on that for now

But I do want to bring in the very weird aura the Gen Z's give off, at least most of them. The need to get offended by everything is really silly and not telling of people who claim to be so "progressive".

Taylor Swift released a video that expressed how she dealt with her eating disorder which she has been vocal about, and in a particular scene, you see her on a scale and another still of her standing next to the person on the scale and the scale reads "FAT"

Now some people saw that video and became offended, calling her "fatphobic" and she was forced to edit the scene out. Now, I believe we have lost the art of objective reasoning and critical thinking because why would someone look at that video and call it "fatphobic"?

What would be fatphobic about it? A video depicting how society forces women to not feel good about themselves until they are skeletons or forces them to get their body back after childbirth? The one that seeks to control and gatekeep women and how they look? Or maybe if someone had kept up with her, they would know she deals with eating disorders and used her music to express it?

Before you sound out the "feminist" crap, I am not here for that but merely expressing genuine curiosity as to why we behave this way and condone such? But that's just me right?

Or was it Lizzo and Beyonce who had to edit "spaz" out of their lyrics because disabled people suddenly became offended? I mean, what is really going on? Why would you think someone is mocking you when that is not the case? Because if you listen to both songs, you can't get mockery or mimicry from any of them. In fact, "spaz" is slang for "going off", kind of when you are excited and doing whatever.

I mean, people cannot have opinions anymore on the net without being attacked for being offensive and put up for "canceling"

I had put up a post on my WhatsApp about not caring for the decision of the DC head to keep Amber Heard on despite fan natterings. I did not care for it because a precedence of allowing people stay on despite trying to ruin other people's lives has been set so it came as no surprise. I specifically used "men" because it's mostly men that have been on the receiving end of the favour.

And some "useful" OGA said I am shallow and should "stand for the truth" and "I'm a Christian" and "why am I playing the victim game", and "if I have this mentality, I am not fit to raise a child"

Now, I couldn't care any less about his opinion than I do about the devil because none matter. I would have sent that as an opportunity to ask me questions or try to understand my point of view instead of finalizing because you just had to be offended.

I got messages from other males too on my list who didn't bark at me, despite having differing opinions but they discussed and gave salient points which I agreed with because that was the point I was making.

Of course people would act differently to things so it wasn't a surprise but I just had to write about it my dears because it seemed so silly in the wake of things. To me, it was not that serious, in fact, I hate the decision because I remember Kevin Spacey had not even gone to court when he was kicked out of "House of Cards" and my goodness, the show just lost its flavor when he left. These are the issues but hey, everyone cannot get the right end of the stick, huh?

I am really worried with the way the world is now. We need more critical thinking taught in schools and we need to get rid of the rote system.

Because if these are the kinds of things we get when people say or do stuff, then the world is slowly losing its momentum and sanity and heading to the brink of intellectual decline.

I really hope this gets nipped in the bud and people actually discuss instead of attacking, people think instead of groaning and intellects reign instead of idiots.

I know some might get offended but what is life without offence if not boring?

Have a great day!!!!!
