Scroll or Turn?
<p>We used to search for knowledge
</p><p>In pages that smelled like time.
</p><p>Now, knowledge scrolls past us,
</p><p>Before it even gets a chance to stay.</p><p><br/></p><p>Tell me,
</p><p>When did we exchange libraries for timelines?</p><p>When did thinking become skimming?</p><p>What do we all do?</p><p><br/></p><p>Scroll.
</p><p>Scroll.
</p><p>Scroll.</p><p>That’s what we do.</p><p><br/></p><p>A headline is enough.
</p><p>A caption is enough.
</p><p>And suddenly everyone has an opinion,
</p><p>But nobody has the full story.</p><p><br/></p><p>We call this knowledge
</p><p>But is it?</p><p>Can wisdom really live
</p><p>In 30 seconds or less?</p><p><br/></p><p>Books taught us patience.
</p><p>How to sit with an idea,</p><p>Until it challenged us,</p><p>Changed us.</p><p><br/></p><p>Social media?</p><p>
It teaches reaction,</p><p>
Fast thoughts,
</p><p>Loud voices.</p><p><br/></p><p>Where influence
</p><p>Is measured in likes</p><p>And views
</p><p>Not in truth.</p><p><br/></p><p>But let’s be real,</p><p>
Social media is powerful.</p><p>It connects.
</p><p>It teaches.</p><p><br/></p><p>
It gives voices to the unheard.</p><p>So this is not old versus new,</p><p>It is depth versus speed,</p><p>Because knowledge is not just what you see</p><p><br/></p><p>
It is what you understand<br/></p><p>And influence.</p><p>It is not what reaches you,
