If you've been following my posts you should have come across the one about documenting and how it helps with source material for creating new content, tools like remix on some of the social media platforms also help people reuse already-made content. As much as making content is the goal, it is harder to stand out on a platform where consumers are also content creators, and where fans are mostly aspiring creators as well. When your content is not original or brings something unique to the table. There is also the issue of dulling your creativity and things getting stale. Every once in a while we come across that one great content that has everyone hooked, they're sharing, tapping in, and recreating their version of the content, it's the definition of viral, we can't get enough of it.... until we do. It soon goes from "OMG!! I love this" to "If I hear that one more time!!" This is when that one content has been over-flogged. As a content creator, you need to have your hand on the pulse, know how to use content that already has a high engagement to be seen, but know when to avoid trends whose wave has been ridden by almost everyone... well, except you're going to blow everyone out the water, or give it new life. Watch out for the latest trends, but do not become someone just chasing trends, there is more power in creating the trends. The likelihood of getting rewarded for your original content seems higher because you bring something that can then get others engaged enough to want to remix your original content, spreading your work to new people, as well as letting the algorithm know how good your content is. Note: The sound and hashtag of certain viral content helps give your post visibility, but there is also the chance of being drowned out by the many others who have taken advantage of the same idea, though any new eye on your work is sometimes a reward, using a unique, intriguing or pleasing cover image can help boost your chances of being clicked on, the idea is to know what you are doing and what you want to achieve.
