By the walls of Notre Dame, she sat wallowing in her pain, Waiting for them to come and take her away. The night was closing in on her sins, Her days were completely over. She knew from the start that she was doomed, From the day she stepped into the ring, her victory was sure, That alone sealed her fate. Then again was it worth fighting for? Fighting was her full-time job. She had been doing it all her life. Her stomach was knotted in dread for the next life she was going to be forced to take. She knew she must, but how would kindness play? Alone now, she stepped out into the chaos that was her own mind, Facing an opponent she recognized in dire straits, The villain was a replica, her reflection, So, of everything, she was to battle herself. The only thing she knew about her opponent was that it was the king’s daughter, She was one too, but she had stopped seeing herself as privileged and pampered. She looked and did not recognize herself in her.That was the only explanation as to why when she finally faced off with the Kings daughter that was herself, She aimed straight for the jugular.<img src="/media/inline_insight_image/Warrior.png" style="background-color: transparent;" alt=""> It was a kill, like a switch, One moment, her rage was brewing and racing like lightening, The next, she was out cold. It wasn’t a compulsory kill, but the hate in her eyes told a different tale Now, she looks down at herself in shock. How did I smite me at all? she asks, Am I truly so compassionless that i'd take out my anger on me? She cried herself to sleep, but, Weeping doesn’t raise the dead, but the dead can be born again. Do you believe in re-incarnation? One moment, you’re gone, and the next, you begin anew, In a world you once knew. She wept for days, and then some more, Then the tears dried up and her heart bled, Red, black, and  red again. She knew doom and then a day when she let herself be forgiven. She coated her pain with love and shrouded her darkness with laughter. In a matter of days, she was whole, new, alive again. And when she looked in the mirror, she saw herself as she always was – pure. <img src="/media/inline_insight_image/Mirror warrior.jpg" alt=""> This time when she waited, it was for redemption. She was through being treated like a slave, Especially as the king’s daughter. When she fights tonight, it would be for the right to live as herself, Without fear and with fervour.
