<p>I knew you'd leave.</p><p>I knew that one day, I'd wake up and you'd be gone.</p><p>I just wanted to give myself the benefit of a doubt.</p><p><br/></p><p>You know, actually now that I think about it. I think you knew it too. You were just too cool to admit it.</p><p>And I don't blame you. I can never blame you for leaving. Because no one ever stays. Not here.</p><p>You told me that they didn't see what you saw in me. you're right.</p><p>Maybe I didn't let them see the reason why there are so many shattered pieces of me. They only saw the shards on the ground.</p><p>But you, you helped me put them together, at least you tried. Till it cut into your skin and you had to let go.</p><p><br/></p><p>In case you're ever wondering, yes, I felt bad.</p><p>I felt like I gave you the bare minimum of what you actually deserved.</p><p>But I was so sad.</p><p>And so angry at myself, that sometimes you'd think I were mad at you instead.</p><p><br/></p><p>And there were days when I wanted to be normal. For you, for us.</p><p>Here's the truth, someone like me can</p><p> never fit in with someone like you. Even if we love each other.</p><p>Because love doesn't fix things.</p><p>Or people.</p><p>And I'm never going to find words for how sorry I am.</p><p><br/></p><p>Sorry for not speaking enough, for not trying harder to be better, for making about me and not the both of us, and for being such a bore.</p><p>And I am so grateful for you. More grateful than you'll ever know for just being here.</p><p>Even when I didn't think I needed anyone, or anything.</p><p>And there are moments, like when we sat in your car, stargazing and we held hands and talked, about things that didn't even make sense.</p><p>I know you were surprised. Because I don't talk, ever. You did the talking and me the listening.</p><p><br/></p><p>But it felt so good that night. And I wish that was who we are. But it's not.</p><p>And now you're gone.</p>
