Our Internet story

Technology has changed our reality more than we can ever comprehensively grasp.

But one thing it will not take is the intrinsic need for human connection.

You see, it went from PenPal when people used to post letters to people that they never met and could wait for months for the pals to write back via post.

Then Facebook came along; and all the other things; and now we have AI changing almost everything we've ever known; which is why I'm not scared in a way that oh it's taking over; because one thing for sure we human beings will still will look for the human connection; tech is just making it better.

The most happiest moments will always be sitting around with family eating together, going on adventures with loved ones; and being seen, valued and appreciated by others; the core of our needs as humans.

I started this train of thought wanting to tell a story of how through the Internet I met a fine young man through my best friend, I was in Nairobi and they were all the way in Lagos, or was it Abuja.

This fine young man had ideas that I thought we needed to revolutionize Africa, led me to another guy, a genius is an understatement, and another lady, a businesswoman boss lady I really look forward to meeting.

Fast forward I have gotten to interact with this trio for almost 4 years now; it sometimes feels like I really know them; which technically I do; but I don't because it's virtual.

But together we have walked this journey of life; I get sad, happy, mad, thrilled, unmotivated, and we go through all the motions of life and have built a virtual thriving community.

Well I don't want to get ahead of myself because I still haven't met them yet; but I love how the community has blossomed thus far.

If I were to never meet them in person, I would be equally satisfied. We have connected, bonded, shared bits and pieces of our lives with each other; we have found that connection that is intrinsic in all of us; and even more beautifully this stands as a testament that whatever we're building is a platform for other such communities to thrive.

And that is the beauty of this internet age is it only adds up to that what is in us and I beleive it will stay that way; no amount of advancement can ever replace this.

And this I would say is one of the craziest beautiful things that has happened to me on this side of the Internet.
