Love, Lies and Deception
<p>I don't tell lies</p><p>Yes, a little white lie here and there</p><p>But I don't tell lies</p><p>Especially not to my friends and the people I claim to love</p><p>I tell the truth </p><p>I do not have any reason to lie</p><p>I would rather just not talk about it at all</p><p>Why talk about it if I'm going to lie about it?</p><p><br/></p><p>So that's why I was surprised </p><p>That's why I was shocked</p><p>That's why I felt betrayed to my bones</p><p>That's why my teeth gnashed and my lips wobbled, my legs trembling profusely beneath me as my face grew hot</p><p><br/></p><p>That's why my already blurred vision blurred completely, causing temporary blindness when I learned that people do in fact, lie.</p><p>That's why I chose to be alone, stay away from everyone else when I learned that friends lie</p><p>When I learned that people who claim to love you, who promise to always be loyal to you, were spewing nothing but hot premeditated deep lies.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>People lie.</p><p>People lie.</p><p>Friends lie.</p><p><br/></p><p>These words rang endlessly in my head for weeks </p><p>I couldn’t grasp it</p><p>I couldn’t fathom and live with the fact that the loyalty I so intentionally and whole heartedly poured out was not reciprocated at all.</p><p><br/></p><p>I was devastated when I learned that my loyalty was repaid with an insane level of fakery and deep rooted deception.</p><p><br/></p><p>I never saw any reason for the people I trusted to lie to me.</p><p>Why lie?</p><p>So that's also why I did what I did.</p><p><br/></p><p>When I learned he lied to me.</p><p><br/></p><p>That's why, as I crouch over the six feet open ground, shouting and screaming at the top of my voice, eager to leave an imprint in the hearts of everyone present, I recall the fear in his face.</p><p><br/></p><p>The face that was once expressionless, carrying no emotions, now portrayed fear as realization dawned on him.</p><p>As he realized what was happening to him!</p><p>Sudden stroke, they said.</p><p>They've never seen anything like this before, they said.</p><p><br/></p><p>But when I was asked for my own account, I remembered.</p><p>I remembered what led us to this point.</p><p>So I lied.</p><p>I lied so beautifully that they believed every single thing I said </p><p>Because I didn't just think of a lie in that moment</p><p>I spent weeks crafting this lie.</p><p>This lie that takes people nanoseconds to come up with. </p><p><br/></p><p>But they believed. </p><p>They had to.</p><p>Afterall, who would think that the khella, barley, and frankincense I told him was good for his prostrate health could cause a stroke.</p><p><br/></p><p>I lied. </p><p>And he chose to believe.</p><p> Now, we're even.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>
