LET'S TALK ABOUT KARMA
Listen to this Insight
The existence of karma is always an interesting topic. It is usually insightful listening to debates about whether or not karma exists. I think recently, the majority are of the opinion that it is all hogwash. Me? I am a proud member of the minority, who believes in the existence of karma. The only factor however, is that it doesn't work like we think or expect it to. Thanks to movies, stories, and moral teachings, we have be conditioned to think that there is a specific way karma works. But when these expectations are cut short, we then dismiss its existence. It is expected that those who do bad, be punished, or publicly ridiculed. However, reality may seem to tow the opposite direction. Those who engage in some sort of bad seemingly prosper more than the the just and noble. In this case, what's the need for good? Let us remember that life is about order and chaos, good and evil. And each action has its consequence. Karma is a universal law, and as such isn't subject to our control. It acts on its own terms, in its own time. It acts beyond the material world, so what we see physically isn't all that there is. Evil would be punished, good would be rewarded. One fascinating thing about the law of actions and consequences, is how it subjectively applies to different people. Some people are swiftly met with the consequences of their deeds. Others may have an extended period of grace. And speaking of grace, that's a topic for another day. To those who question the need for doing good or the right thing, because of the seeming prosperity of evil; do not relent. We are only aware of the information available to us. Whenever and wherever you are faced with the option of right and wrong, choose to do the right thing.
