<p>It flashed across my mind,</p><p>Why did people treat her like that?</p><p>Truly her eyes glowed like fireflies,</p><p>Her body scents like cocoa,</p><p>Her tiny legs so smooth; unscathed,</p><p>But certainly there was more;</p><p><br/></p><p>Her beauty was somewhat different from ours,</p><p>She was a deity, my deity,</p><p>We thought she would be one of the faces;</p><p>The faces in the iwe akojo iya agba reads,</p><p>But we were wrong,</p><p>I especially, she was my model,</p><p><br/></p><p>I dreamt of her coming to abúle,</p><p>I could feel the reality of the dream in every part of me,</p><p>But one thing kept me astonished,</p><p>Kilode ti awon ara ilu korira è?</p><p>I thought for days and had no answer,</p><p>I told myself it was jealousy,</p><p><br/></p><p>Days passed, weeks rolled,</p><p>I woke up to reality, she was never coming,</p><p>My own osun,</p><p>The shadow of beauty in which I lived,</p><p>Gradually my love faded,</p><p>Maybe because it was not meant to be,</p><p><br/></p><p>But still I was curious,</p><p>the elders must have seen something,</p><p>I asked baba nlá why, why did people dislike her?</p><p>He said "lóótó Abike rewa lomobirin,</p><p>Sugbon éwà nikan kòtò,</p><p>iwa réré loba iwa</p><p>Iwàléwà"</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>
