I’ve been building social products for 8 years. Social networks, social games, social payments and the like. I like to think of myself as something of an expert at social products.

I can’t remember how I discovered TwoCents but it was probably on Twitter. And like I always do when I discover social products being built in naija, I did a product tear down, looked for the founder and connected.

I used the product once and kind of forgot at it. Till the founder post a link to an article of his WhatsApp status and I reengaged with the platform. It was then I realized the thing that makes TwoCents a powerful idea. TwoCents can be the platform that provides a space for Africans to express novel ideas, big ideas, radical ideas, alternative philosophies. It can be the space where the reality of tomorrow lives as ideas today. It can be the place where divergent thinkers meet to deliver, discuss, and debate the ideas and values that will shape the future of the continent.

It is an extremely niche idea. But it is an extremely powerful one. And one that can shape the future. I can’t wait to see where this goes.

What do you envision the future of TwoCents to be?

At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
