Chapter Two

Twin Shadows

The years passed like falling snow—quiet at first, then sudden, then gone.

The sisters were separated before they could ever understand each other. One taken north, the other south. One into the arms of frost, the other into fire.

Kaelara, the frost-touched, was raised by the monks of the Icespire—a frozen monastery carved into the spine of the world. There, silence was sacred, and restraint was law. She learned to mold snowflakes into daggers, to still her heartbeat until she could hear the trees breathe. Her world was made of stone, silence, and sharp edges.

But in the solitude of night, Kaelara would press her palm to the frost-covered window and feel warmth beyond the horizon. A pull. A memory she couldn’t name.

She never knew it was her sister.

--------------

Seren, the fireborn, lived beneath the Flame Peaks—where the earth cracked and glowed and the sun never fully set. She was trained by the Ember Guard, a militant order who believed flame was purity, and strength came through control. Her body learned to burn without consuming, to hold heat without breaking. She wore armor that steamed in the rain and wielded fire as a dancer does rhythm.

And yet, beneath her fierce laughter and glowing eyes, Seren often stood alone by the lava pools, searching the northern sky for something that would never come.

She didn’t know why she longed for snow.

---

Their teachers never spoke of the other. The story of Elenya’s death was buried under layers of caution and fear. The prophecy—once whispered in temples—was forbidden now. It spoke of twins born of one death, who would bring either the healing of the world…

…or its undoing.

But some among the Elders remembered. And watched.

Because far beneath the earth, in the void between elements, the Hollow Flame twisted in the dark.

Waiting.

Feeding.

Growing.

Its voice slithered into dreams.

Its shadows began to spread.

And both sisters, in opposite ends of the world, began to feel something crack.

A tremor in the balance.

The calm before a storm they did not yet know they were born to stop.

At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
