Which would you prefer? Would you rather be happy, or content? What even is the difference between the two? Happiness is more or less an experience, it is a state of emotional well-being that a person experiences when good things happen or an accomplishment is made. It manifests in joy, pride and even laughter, as well as positive thinking.

Contentment, on the other hand, is a feeling accompanied by gratitude, peace and satisfaction. The difference between the two; is that contentment is long lasting, whereas happiness is not, it is fleeting.

When we chase happiness, over contentment, we most likely keep chasing it forever. Because what makes us 'happy' is ever evolving. There is always something better, newer and fresher. When we devout our time in the pursuit of these things to make us happy, we miss out on moments. Time goes by fast, without us making most of it. We do not acknowledge those all the little things that spice up our lives. The often tedious and continuous pursuit of happiness, ironically can make us unhappy.

But with contentment, we are appreciative of what we have. Where we were and where we are now. Gratitude is a good and peaceful feeling. Knowing that irrespective of everything else, what you have at the moment is enough for you. Contentment keeps us in check, it shields us from external peer pressure and social media 'oppression'. After all, it has been said that the pursuit of happiness often leads a man to do unspeakable things.

But the choice however is yours; Happiness or Contentment. Which would you prefer.

I know you like my insights đ. Kindly consider leaving a tip.
At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate contentâuse it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio contentâhigh-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover imagesâif your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
