From Frying Pan to Fire: Nigeria's Decade of Disillusioned Change

Few year ago, we all shouted, "down with the Jonathan government! Give us change!! Say no to PDP!!!". After the popular bombing of Nyanya in 2014, we all thought we needed change, but we never knew we were biting more than what we could chew.

The 2015 elections brought in a new government, a new ruling party and finally a wave of positive change. Or so we thought.

The Buhari led government, under the umbrella of the All Progressive Congress, APC, gave Nigerians change. But this change wasn't the one we asked for. It was like going from frying pan to fire as some would say. And this change didn't just come for a few people, it came for all.

This change reduced 3- square meal to 2. And to some people, even a plate of food a day became like reaching out for the stars.

Okay, we're Nigerians, we can adapt. Then came the killing of about 70 people in Benue State.

Okay, that's just one state. No, terrorism began to spread like a wild fire, from Benue State to plateau, to Adamawa, then states like Niger, Borno, Sokoto, etc.

The Giant of Africa went through recession twice in 5 years.

let's not even talk about sectors like education or health care.

For 8 years Nigerians suffered in the hands of this government.

2023, another election year. Nigerians came out massively to vote out this nonchalant government. But guess what? They won again. we all know how.

As soon as he was inaugurated, (we know who), the sufferings of Nigerians tripled.

From corruption, bad economy, everything is just screaming BAD.

If I want to talk about just the past 3 years of this government, hmmmm.........

well, it's 2026. And barely a year to another election.

would Nigerians rise to see this government fall?

will the voices of Nigerians be heard? will Nigerians finally get a chance to positive change?

Well,I guess time will tell........
