<p>Forever Table for One</p><p><br/></p><p>I set the table, just one plate,</p><p>A silent guest, the hour late.</p><p>The ticking clock, a cruel friend,</p><p>Whispers tales that never end.</p><p><br/></p><p>I scroll through life in wedding white,</p><p>While shadows fill my room at night.</p><p>The laughter fades from other halls,</p><p>While mine just echoes empty walls.</p><p><br/></p><p>"Is it me?" the question grows,</p><p>In every glance, the silence shows.</p><p>The movies lie, the songs pretend,</p><p>That love is something time will send.</p><p><br/></p><p>But time has hands that never hold,</p><p>Just pages turned, and hearts grown cold.</p><p>The dream of two begins to blur—</p><p>Was it even meant for her?</p><p><br/></p><p>Yet still I hope, yet still I dress,</p><p>Try to smile through loneliness.</p><p>Though panic grips and fears won't part,</p><p>A single soul still owns a heart.</p><p><br/></p><p>So here I stand, alone, not less,</p><p>A work in pain, a quiet mess.</p><p>But even love, if never near,</p><p>Won’t steal my worth, nor make me disappear.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>
