<p>Hate didn’t arrive suddenly</p><p>It grew</p><p>Layer by layer</p><p>Every time I forgave</p><p>What should have ended me</p><p>I hate how easy it was</p><p>For people to change</p><p>Once they got comfortable</p><p>How effort fades</p><p>When presence is guaranteed</p><p>I hate remembering conversations</p><p>Where I defended people</p><p>Who were already preparing</p><p>To let me down</p><p>Sometimes</p><p>The hate turns toward myself</p><p>For loving with no exit plan</p><p>For staying soft</p><p>In a world that rewards distance</p><p>Hate feels like waking up</p><p>And realizing.. </p><p>You are no longer surprised</p><p>By betrayal</p><p>It makes your chest heavy</p><p>Your trust selective</p><p>Your heart quieter</p><p>Than it used to be</p><p>I don’t hate you</p><p>I hate who I became</p><p>After believing</p><p>You were different</p>
