Faith Series – Episode 4: When Trust Feels Risky

We all want to trust God until the fear of looking foolish gets in the way. It's one thing to believe quietly in your heart. It's another to trust Him out loud, where others can see, hear, and even question you if it all falls apart.

What if the job doesn’t come through?

What if the healing doesn’t happen?

What if I said, “God told me,” and He doesn’t show up the way I hoped?

That fear? It’s real. The fear of looking foolish. The fear of hoping publicly. The fear of a quiet heartbreak with a loud audience.

And it’s not just embarrassment we fear. It’s the ache of dashed hopes, the sting of watching others nod in quiet pity, the vulnerability of putting our trust in outcomes we have no control over.

But here's the thing. Faith was never about preserving our image. It's about trusting God's integrity.

In the Bible, Noah built an ark before there was rain; imagine explaining that to the neighbors. Abraham packed up without a map, a travel guide, or even a destination. Peter took a step where logic said he shouldn’t. Faith really has a way of rewriting the rules. They all risked embarrassment, but they also witnessed God in unforgettable ways.

Maybe that’s the lesson. Faith isn’t about recklessness: it’s about daring to trust.

To stop letting the fear of shame speak louder than the voice of God.

Even when it doesn't go the way we imagined, faith may feel risky, but with God, it’s never in vain.

So here’s to trusting out loud, risking the "what ifs," and holding on to the One who never fails, even if the road gets messy along the way.
