There’s something we do as human beings that I think really sucks — we tend to assume the worst about people, especially before actually experiencing them. The reason I’m saying this — the reason I’ve come to this conclusion — is from personal experience.

I’ve met people who saw me on social media or from a distance, without ever interacting with me they’ll meet me for the first time, and I would hear things like: “Oh, I didn’t know you were this friendly,” or “I didn’t know you were this humble,” or “I thought you were stuck-up,”

But why?

Why would you assume all that just from looking at me? You haven’t experienced me. You haven’t interacted with me. I haven’t even gotten the chance to prove you wrong — yet you judge.

And the danger of this is real. You can end up disliking someone or saying bad things about them to others based solely on assumptions. Some people go as far as showing outright prejudice based on who they think you are — without any personal experience. Another issue is that people take what others say about someone and run with it. That’s something I strongly advise against.

Just because Mrs. A or Miss B interacted with someone on a bad day and formed an opinion doesn’t mean that will be your experience. Maybe that person was suffering a heartbreak or belle dey turn them. You sef think am na? It’s why I always say this : the sun that can melt ice is the same sun that can harden clay.

Which in essence means people are and can be different things to different people.

Know this and know peace.

In conclusion; I do believe it’s wise to hope for the best but prepare for the worst when you meet people for the first time. The problem is, many people aren’t preparing — they’re actively hoping for the worst. Just so they can say, “I knew it.” I knew they were like this or that. Not nice at all na!

Sha, make una dey try experience people for yourself. Life go soft more if we stop to dey carry judgment dey waka upandan, like handbag.

Peace and love.

At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
