From Zero Skill to Millionaire Baker: A promising and Inspiring SAED Journey of a young Nigeria graduate.

Before NYSC, Tawa was like many young graduates—full of dreams but short on skills. She had no business idea, no technical know-how, and no solid plan for life after service. Just a B.Sc. certificate and the hope that NYSC would somehow show her the way.

That hope came alive the very first week at the orientation camp 2024 Batch A stream II.

While many corps members saw SAED (Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development) as just another boring lecture to sleep through, Tawa saw something else,a golden opportunity. On the second day of SAED, when the baking instructor displayed a beautiful cake on stage, something clicked in Tawa's heart. That was it. That was her path.

While others dozed off or chatted during SAED lectures, Tawa was fully alert, taking notes, asking questions, and even volunteering to help during practicals. She knew she had no skill before camp, so she made up her mind not to leave without one. And she didn’t.

After camp, she didn’t stop there. She located her SAED baking instructor, registered for advanced training, and spent three solid months learning everything from birthday cakes to pastries, meat pies, doughnuts, and cupcakes. Her hands got stronger, her recipes got better, and her confidence soared.

Then NYSC ended.

No more ₦33,000 allowance.

No juicy job offers.

Reality hit hard, but Tawa wasn’t shaken. She remembered her skill. She borrowed her aunt’s oven and used the last ₦100,000 she saved while still on service to buy ingredients. Her first cake was for a neighbor’s child’s birthday. Then another, and another. Soon, she was supplying cupcakes to schools and events in her area.

Word spread. Her work spoke for her. Her customers grew from ten to hundreds. She expanded her kitchen into a full bakery. Today, Tawa’s Delight Cakes & Confectionery is a thriving business with 13 staff members, including two corps members currently learning under her and undergraduates as well—just like she once did.

She is now a millionaire, baking her way to success one cake at a time.

All of this started from NYSC SAED.

Tawa’s story is a living proof that SAED is not just a lecture—it’s a lifeline. While others slept through it, she stayed awake—and it changed her life forever.

<span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">This story illustrate that people's only need chance and opportunity to become successful and prosperous

<span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">Lesson? Never joke with SAED. That “boring” lecture might just be the beginning of your breakthrough.<span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">

Classclosed.
