<p>Honestly, how do I come up with these titles anyway?</p>
<p>Must be really frustrating or should I say, entertaining?😎😎</p>
<p>Doesn't matter, let us get to the business for today</p>
<p>We are going to examine some phrases and why you may have been using them wrongly and how you might be needing a history lesson😎😎</p>

<p>Leggo!!!!!</p><p>1. BLOOD IS THICKER THAN WATER</p>
<p>The original phrasing of this proverb is "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb"</p>
<p>When you examine the commonly used phrasing, it means or signifies family ties being stronger than any other bond being formed. </p>
<p>I don't really know the particular reasoning that followed that phrasing; I mean "Blood" is understandable but "Water" seems interesting. What brought this conclusion? </p>
<p>Now to the original phrase, while we cannot really find the original meaning, some schools of thought hold that the phrase means "the bonds built by friends or through a "blood covenant" is oftentimes stronger than those built with your brother or sister". </p>
<p>Blood has often been seen as relating to family, like a bloodline, but this phrasing attributes it to something more complex. It defines blood in relation to soldiers who shed blood together or a "contract of blood" and water is seen as the connecting bond between brothers, since they came from the same place.</p>
<p>The proverb is said to be based on biblical principles, if you would refer to the verse that says "..there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother"</p>
<p>Whatever the case, one thing is common and that is the relationship aspect of it, in relation to the strength of the bond or ties. </p>
<p>Well now you know</p><p>2. CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT</p>
<p>Majority of us have always left out the second part of this saying because we want to seemingly drive home our message of doom but maybe we should let ourselves be more open-minded.</p>
<p>The recent version interprets it as a warning to let sleeping dogs lie and not delve into something just out of curiosity, especially something dangerous</p>
<p>The original phrasing which is "curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back" seems more open-minded as it allows for mistakes and learning</p>
<p>Often, we have been told cats have "nine lives", so this phrase homes in on that particular trait</p>
<p>So, the next time someone wants to put you on a doomsday radar, remind them that you know better😎😎😎</p><p>3. JACK OF ALL TRADES</p>
<p>Remember how this was used interchangeably, as a compliment and an insult</p>
<p>As an insult, it was used to mock people who did a lot of things at once but were never good at any or just loved stressing themselves</p>
<p>As a compliment, it was used for someone always excelling at different unrelated things at once, mostly someone with a lot of skills(Chouskiana, check her out on TikTok 😎)</p>
<p>Fully, the phrase is "Jack of all trades, master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one"</p>
<p>I think I like the full version, because if you have mastered some skills and have knowledge of at least a few more, there is some form of security and deftness than just mastering one and not knowing any other thing. </p>
<p>Although, I still admire people who can be identified for one thing, and have improved on it. </p>
<p>After all, we all need each other and instead of giving yourself a headache, why don't you ask for help from an expert in a field you are not familiar with?</p>

<p>Then again, I highly doubt any of us has just one thing we are good at</p><p>4. GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE</p>
<p>I love this one because the unnoticeable irony in the full saying to an untrained eye would definitely have you questioning your IQ.</p>
<p>Okay look at this" Great minds think alike, though fools seldom differ"</p>
<p>Do you see it? In one breath, we are told great minds often think the same way, but it segues and says fools seldom differ.</p>
<p>What does that tell us?</p>
<p>Even though great minds usually have the same thought process, they also have disagreements in some other areas.</p>
<p>They are not going to always agree</p>
<p>I mean, we are dynamic creatures, we cannot always agree</p>
<p>It emphasizes that these great minds always give room or allowance for disagreements and don't lose their friendships because of it</p>
<p>Hence, why you always hear people after an argument say "let us just agree to disagree"</p>
<p>Don't be a fool!!!</p>

<p>It's okay if this is alien to you, it's for security purposes 😁😁😁</p><p>5. MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL</p>
<p>Really? Then why do you go to work or open a business? Are you by thine own hand helping to perpetrate evil? Interesting 🤔🤔</p>
<p>This is a biblical phrase often misconstrued and I would like us to correct it today</p>
<p>"For the love of money is the root of all evil"</p>
<p>Do you see the difference?</p>
<p>It's the love of it, not money itself. And how does this love exhibit itself?</p>
<p>Greed!!!</p>
<p>How else would you become evil of you don't exhibit your inner greed? Wanting more than you already have without a thought for the next person</p>
<p>You are never satisfied, even when everything is at your feet. </p>
<p>That certainly needs some curbing, don't you think</p>
