COSMETOLOGY
Cosmetology is the art and science of beautifying the hair, nails, skin. It can also be seen as the study and application of beauty treatment. Branches of specialty includes; hair styling, skin care, cosmetics, manicure/pedicure, non permanent hair removal, and permanent hair removal processes such as electrology and intense pulse light Under the cosmetics law of 1999, cosmetics are articles with mild action on the human body for the purpose of cleaning, beautifying, adding to the attractiveness, altering the appearance, or keeping and promoting the skin or hair in good condition. Cosmetology is a profession that is built on human interaction. Building up a customer base depends not only on the skin of the cosmetologist, but also the trust and rapport they built with their clients. Customers only put their faith in the expertise and professionalism of their cosmetologist if they can make their customers feel great about themselves when they leave their chair, that's when you can be said to have a successful career in cosmetology. This is a job that requires physical stamina, as you'll spend a lot of time on your feet Beauty and cosmetology is as old as civilization. Maintaining a beautiful appearance how ever that is, depends in the time and period, has always been an important part of women's lives. The use of cosmetics to improve appearance goes back to before the first century. The Egyptians used various organic and minerals to create makeup as far back as 4000BCE. Egyptians heiroglyphics and paintings suggests that eye shadow was used by both men and women of noble classes to enhance the perceived size of their eye. It was not until the Renaissance and Victorian era that more holistic cosmetics began to be used. In there periods, thick appreciations of makeup were discouraged. More care was used to accentuate natural beauty and preserve the skin. The beauty trends of the 1980s seem over the top though at the time "big hair", bule mascara and bright colors in makeup and clothes were common place. An unrealistic expectation on perfect bodies and becoming abnormally thin was also trend. The 1900s is when modern cosmetics matured and florished worldwide. Cosmetology and beauty treatments in the ancient times and the middle ages were present, especially for the wealthy. In the 20tb century, styles in beauty, fashion, hairstyles, and makeup, begann to change more quickly, this was due to mass communication through magazines, movies, televisions, and the 21st century, through the internet and social media.
