If you've ever driven through Abuja, you'd see the absurd theater of our class wars. A gleaming Mercedes evading potholes deep enough to swallow a motorcycle. The driver adjusts his Gucci sunglasses that cost a fortune. Five feet way, a woman hawking is calculating how 500 naira can feed four mouths.

Two worlds, one city, one economy. Seperated by an invisible wall we all pretend isn't there.

Welcome to classism, Nigerian style, a tragi-comedy where everyone's an actor and no one knows the plot.

You haven’t “made it” in Abuja until your SUV has tint so dark it hides your conscience. Bonus points for yelling at that child hawking pure water on the road for standing too close to your car.

Then there’s the accent game. “You don’t sound like you’re from here” really means “You’re either too local or too fake.”

Oh, and let’s not forget the eyebrow raise that comes after saying you school in a federal university. That slight lift of the brow, quick and practiced which says, “Oh. You’re one of those.”

Meritocracy? She exists? Never met her. Jobs go to “brother’s son,” not the most qualified.

Why is it peak madness? I'm glad you asked. We blame the government, then treat the waitress like part of the furniture. We shout “Support Nigerian businesses!” but look down on the “illiterate” market woman who sells the tomatoes we eat.

How to fix it? Please stop acting like a “big man” when your humanity is a small boy. Use your Abuja privilege to hold the gate open, not slam it in people's faces. And maybe remember that one day, your jeep will break down, and that “ordinary” mechanic will decide if you get home tonight.

We’re all in the same leaky boat. Yet some are drilling more holes just to prove they have a better bucket. We can keep drilling holes, or start bailing water together.

Your move, Big Man.

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to 7 people with the best insights in the past month. The 7 winners are picked
by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Top Engagers
For the Top Engagers Track, we award the top 3 people who engage the most with other user's content via
comments.
The winners are picked using the "Monthly Engagers" tab on the rankings page.
Most Engaged Content
The Most Engaged Content recognizes users whose content received the most engagement during the month.
We pick the top 3.
The winners are picked using the "Monthly Contributors" tab on the rankings page.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
