ADHD: My Chaotic Superpower (No Cape Required)

So here's the thing—ADHD gets a really weird rep. People hear it and immediately think, “Oh, you must be distracted all the time,” or “You probably can’t focus on anything.” Like… yeah, but also no. It’s way more complicated—and way more interesting—than that.

Having ADHD is like having 37 tabs open in your brain, and somehow, the music is playing from a tab you can't even find. But guess what? That chaos? That’s my superpower.

I mean, who else can go from sketching a futuristic fashion design to suddenly researching 17th-century sword fighting techniques at 3 a.m. because it felt relevant to a story idea? Me. That’s who. My brain doesn’t follow the usual GPS—it’s got its own alternate route, complete with detours, memes, and sudden deep dives into how squirrels organize their food (don't ask).

People always think ADHD is just “being hyper” or “not paying attention.” What they don’t see is the creativity, the spontaneity, the ability to connect dots others didn’t even know were on the page. My mind is like a Pinterest board that auto-updates based on vibes. One minute I’m solving a problem sideways, the next I’m building a mini empire of ideas I didn’t even know I had.

Yes, it has its real challenges. Sometimes, remembering where I left my phone (or the fact that I was holding it) feels like solving a murder mystery. Time? Never heard of her. And don’t get me started on trying to finish something I started when another (shinier) idea comes bouncing in like, “Hey, let’s build a spaceship instead!”

But still—ADHD is a part of me, and honestly, I wouldn't trade it. It makes me different. It makes me dream in ways other people don't. And sure, I might forget your birthday (sorry in advance), but I’ll remember the exact shade of blue you wore on a random Tuesday three months ago because it reminded me of the ocean in a book I read once.

So yeah, I’ve got ADHD. Not broken. Not lazy. Not weird. Just wired differently. And in the right light? That’s kind of badass.
