To begin receiving tips for insights on TwoCents, contributors/writers must meet several criteria, the fitst of which is a Contributor score of 100 and above.
The Contributor Score is calculated from the total number of views, comments and upvotes a user has received on all their insights.
On average, a score of 100 can be achieved with 2 to 4 insights depending on the amount of engagement.
The second criteria for being eligible to receive tips on TwoCents is a complete profile
A user must ensure that each item on their "Complete Profile" checklist on their "Add your Bank Accounts" page haa a green tick icon beside it.
The last eligibility criteria for receiving tips is a Verified User Profile.
A user can become verified when they have met the first two criteria listed above, and our team has performed a check to ensure that all the information provided on their profile is accurate.
Verified users have a verified icon beside their name.
Once you have met all the above-listed criteria, you become eligible for receiving tips on TwoCents.
The next step is to link your bank account(s) on the "Add your bank account" page. You can add up to 5 bank accounts.
Depending on the currency of the bank account you are linking, you might need to provide details such as a SWIFT code, Routing number, bank branch code (if the bank is in Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda or Uganda).
By default, the first account you link is set to active, meaning tips people send to you will be paid into this account. However as you add other accounts, you can change which account(s) is/are the active account(s).
You can have only 1 active account per currency. So say you have 4 bank accounts linked, 2 dollar (USD) and 2 Naira (NGN) accounts, you can have only 1 Dollar and 1 Naira account set to active.
Setting all bank accounts to inactive means a user won't be able to receive tips.
This is the fun part!. Once you have linked your bank accounts and set the desired ones to active, you can start receiving tips for your content.
There is no limit to the number of tips you can receive for your content/insights. However there is a minumum amount that can be sent for each currency.
